Forget the Boys(Well, Just For One Night)... It's All About the Gals

Galentines Day Celebration

So, let's just say it... Galentine's Day is WAY better than Valentine's Day. Never heard of it? Don't worry. We'll fill you in!

Galentine's Day was started in 2010 by the fictional character Leslie Knope in the second season of Parks and Recreation. Celebrated the day before Valentine's Day on February 13th, it's a day dedicated 100% to our best girlfriends.

There are so many ways to celebrate with the gals, but one of the best ways is to throw a fun girls night in party for the amazing gals in your life. Here are four tips on how to throw the best Galentine's Day party!

1) Pick A Theme

Any good party is all about the theme, and Galentine's Day is no exception. Party colors are typically super girly featuring different shades of pinks, reds, and fuchsia. An easy way to decorate is of course using Valentine's Day decorations, but this is a perfect time to get creative. Some examples of fun ideas include makeup decorations, spa party, pajama party, outdoor movie, picnic and kissy lips.

2) Create A Fun Photo Backdrop

Who doesn't love a good photo backdrop? It can be easy and inexpensive to create a fun backdrop. You can use balloons, shimmery tinsel, or anything you can find. Amazon has a ton of inexpensive options to pick and choose from. Oh, and don't forget the photo props! Prop up the phone, set the timer, and get a cute photo of all the girls together!

3) It's All About the Food

Is eating a pastime for you? Then you're our kind of girl! Here's some fun ideas for Galentine's Day menu options:

  • Charcuterie Boards

  • Fondue

  • Brunch

  • Homemade Personal Pizzas

  • Chips, Salsa, Queso, Margaritas ... enough said.

  • Desserts, Desserts, & More Desserts.

4) Cocktails Are A Must Have

Is there really anything more fun than a girls night in with cocktails? Wine will do for sure, but we have some great suggestions for easy to make, on theme, cocktails.

  • Place a piece of pink cotton candy in a champagne glass. Pour the champagne over the cotton candy, it will turn pink. Top the drink with Cotton Candy and add a cute straw!
