Wedding Menu Tasting Tips

Wedding Food

Who's ready for a 💍🎉 weddin'?!

Do you love food like we do? Then it’s highly likely that your favorite part of wedding planning will be tasting the wedding food… and cake! Here are a few tips to keep in mind when having a tasting with potential caterers or bakers!

KEEP YOUR ENTOURAGE SMALL

Bring a small group of three to four people at the most, and they should be the ones who can give honest and helpful feedback.

BE PREPARED

Be prepared to give feedback and take notes on everything from the food to the service. You could take some shots of the food too to refer back to. Ask questions about their setup process, the types of serving dishes they provide, and the style of their presentations.

LISTEN TO THE EXPERTS

Although it’s best to have an idea of what you want for your reception, experienced vendors will know what dishes are crowd favorites, what foods pairs best with what wine, and what menu combinations typically work best. Yes, you should absolutely cross things off the menu you don't like but be prepared to try new dishes, you may stumble upon a new favorite.
